Focus On:
Regional Talent Attraction & Promotion
Workforce development in Northern Kentucky in many ways is a math problem that does not add up. Even with modest population growth forecasted throughout the decade, there simply are not enough workers to fill needed jobs. The Regional Talent Attraction and Promotion team is focused on finding and keeping all available talent here.
Their goals are:
1. Advancing Positive Workforce Cultures:
Increasingly, today’s workers list business culture as the most important factor when deciding where to work.
Northern Kentucky is full of great companies, large and small, where workers are respected and rewarded for their hard work. This focus area shares stories of successful workforce cultures and encourages employers to constantly evaluate their internal climate so they can be “employers of choice” for all workers.
2. New Talent Work Success:
Studies show employees are twice as likely to stay in companies with a strong onboarding program.
Today’s workforce is increasingly more individualized with a diverse mix of skills, experiences, passions, wants and needs. Helping them acclimate to the job requires a robust onboarding process. This focus area promotes a wide range of programs and opportunities that help workers settle in Northern Kentucky where they can thrive in their careers and contribute to our community.
3. Community & Employer Work Supports:
Broadly sharing our community assets is an important goal.
Northern Kentucky is a great place to live and work, and more people need to know it. Having a unified voice and message about our community assets will help attract and keep workers. The Talent Attraction and Retention team is always searching for opportunities to promote Northern Kentucky.
